2nd verse, same as the first!
Got the body of the TIE Advanced done today. A lot more surface area to work with but worked out to about the same amount of time needed as with the standard Fighter. This time the 'surprise' aha moment was the recognition of the Tiger gun barrels used as detail inside the little bays on the front of the Advanced hull. Too bad for Darth Vader they weren't pointing the right direction!

Finally got all the pin washes down, this time on the wings. Whew!
It was funny to find more armor-related stuff in all the intricate details. I found fire extinguishers, jacks, Bosch headlight mounts, and what even looks like engine halves (probably from cars) among other odd bits and pieces.
I just need to re-mask the clear parts, apply some dull coat, then attach the wings. Almost done!

Got the finishing touches in on these little guys today. First up was an overall treatment of Testors Lusterless Flat in the spray can to remove the remaining gloss and seal everything in. Then the masking came off the clear parts to reveal that everything had done its job as intended.
Wings were installed next. They were, as expected, a tight fit so a little pressure was needed to ensure they sat all the way down as designed.
All that was left was to mount them on their stands and ensure they stayed on the leader for the final walkarounds.
